Mark Your Calendars for Campus Sustainability Day

Celebrate Campus Sustainability Day on Friday, October 26, from 1-4pm on Polk Place in front of Wilson Library. Bring a friend, play some field day games, grab some snacks, and learn about the University’s many programs, student groups, and departments that promote sustainability. Take the Carolina Green Pledge in advance to pick up one of the coveted Carolina Green water bottles, while supplies last. Rameses will show his Carolina Green spirit between 2:15 – 3:15pm.

You don’t need to wait until Friday to start Sustainability Day activities. Join us for “Preparing Students for a Changing Climate,” a live broadcast panel discussion on preparing students to lead a just, healthy, and sustainable society, on Wednesday, October 24, 2:00 – 3:30pm in the Magnolia Conference Room in the Giles Horney Bldg., 103 Airport Drive. Short-term visitor parking is available and the HS and NU free Chapel Hill Transit bus routes stop in front of the building. You can also register to watch the broadcast on your own computer. Then, Wednesday evening, Jonathan Bloom, author of American Wasteland, will discuss food waste issues. Did you know that Americans waste over 40% of the food produced for consumption? Find out why we waste food and what we can do about it at 6:30 pm in the Student Union, Room 3408. Sponsored by FLO Food and Epsilon Eta.
